Janet Berg was invited to attend a home tour in Los Gatos. She learned that those she loved most were influenced by Cherie Rose. Having an original tract home in Willow Glen, Janet knew her home needed updating. The very next day Cherie was at Janet’s home and created designs to enhance Janet’s own ideas.
“I fell in love with Cherie when she came out to meet us,” stated Janet. “She suggested new hardwood floors, new doors throughout the house, new light fixtures, new wall colors and of course, a new kitchen. She took out a wall in our kitchen and moved it out three feet into the living room. This opened up our floor space and connected the kitchen to the living room so I could enjoy conversation with guests while cooking. My new gas stove was built into a granite island with beautiful custom made glass door cabinets. One of the most exciting suggestions she came up with was to add crown molding columns around the kitchen and dining rooms doors for an elegant finish. “My kitchen was perfect!” says Janet. “Our living room fireplace was refaced with the same granite that was selected in the kitchen to pull the rooms together. I had expressed dislike of our vaulted ceilings, so Cherie had them dropped down to create a more modern soffit ceiling.”
“Cherie has an unbelievable talent”, states Janet. “I believe the most impressive thing about her work was the fact that she was so responsive even though I wasn’t a large project for her. She still gave me her undivided attention. Many friends have remodeled their homes and I’ve heard of the nightmares, but with Cherie we did not have one problem. She took care of everything and kept us at ease. The only thing I regret is not doing this years ago while my children were still home to enjoy this with us.”

“I met Cherie just after I was drafted as the 49ers quarterback. I found a great home in Los Gatos and was looking for my master bedroom furnishings. I had spent several days shopping with my family but had found nothing that fit my style or a sales staff that understood my needs. Then we happened to wander last The Rose Collection and there in the front window was the perfect suite…a massive four-posted bed complete with eye-catching bedding.”
“The sales staff were very responsive and asked all the right questions. They truly cared about my desires. I was then fortunate enough to have the opportunity to meet Cherie Rose who scheduled an in-home design appointment to put the entire space together. Within months, her design and construction company had completely remodeled my entire room. It was beautiful and I was very pleased. That experience went so well I hired her to remodel my kitchen and family room. They removed a wall and turned it into one large open space that would accommodate my large family and friends. That space has become the hub of my home and perfectly reflects my casual, informal life-style. It was so great to work with someone who can handle an entire project from concept through every detailed finishing touch. With my hectic schedule, that is the only way I could have handled a project of this magnitude. She and her staff are terrific!”

Susan Barton moved to California from Virginia nine months ago, fell in love with Los Gatos and found a small house to begin her new life here. One day she decided to explore the town of Los Gatos and happened upon a unique furniture store called “The Rose Collection.”
“As I entered the store, I happened to meet the owner of the store, Cherie Rose, and felt a synergy between us almost immediately.” says Susan. “I explained to Cherie that I had just moved here and was just in need of a few items, i.e., a small table, some curtains – not much. Cherie offered to come to my home for a consultation and as she reviewed my home, she listened to my dreams for each room. I had not realized Cherie Rose’s talent with remodeling homes until we discussed my real desires.”
“Cherie was able to bring my dreams alive by remodeling my bathrooms, adding new windows, replacing the roof, the stucco, resurfacing my fireplace and adding beautiful antique glass in my kitchen cabinets for a charming appeal. One of the simplest most dramatic changes took place in the living/dining room area where Cherie installed a “mirrored wall” to give the effect and appearance of more open space” states Susan. “All light fixtures were changed in the house, and walls were textured with a faux paint which tied the whole house together with an energy you cannot describe.”
As she spoke with Susan, Cherie revealed how she had a vision for grapevines in the kitchen. Cherie’s connection with an artist brought this vision alive in a painting in Susan’s kitchen as well as a painting of a 3-D mural on the outside garage (which she could see through her french doors). “The mural is a dramatic, elegant painting depicting my life and the things that matter most to me.” says Susan. “A type of magic was created in my home.”
The bedrooms were also created with different themes – Africa for one of Susan’s son’s rooms and a Moroccan Palace for her own. Susan said, “The expression of my dreams and the depth of myself came alive in this transformation and my home is a very nurturing place for my family.” Because of this unique transformation, Susan named her home, “Casa de la Rosa” in honor of Cherie’s work and for the special meaning…”if you walk into my doors, forever your life will be changed.”

John and Connie Lozon purchased their Los Gatos home seven years age and “wanted a house like the castles we loved when we were in Europe.”
“Cherie Rose, owner of The Rose Collection, came in and our personalities just clicked,” explains Connie Lozon. “She was in tune with our style and colors and made it easy. We wanted heavy European style window coverings and we got it. We needed the window coverings to tie in with our existing furniture colors and oriental rugs, and we got it. Unlike other designers, Cherie listened to our desires. She gets in tune with what you want and is great at linking the whole house together. Cherie tied the same elegant theme with totally different colors in all of our rooms.”
Says John, “You give Cherie a design and she goes right to it. If you’re starting from scratch, it’s best just to trust Cherie, as I did with the family room, and it came out gorgeous! Cherie also knew how to make existing items in our house work together with our new environment and she gave us options to help us decide.”
“Cherie feels like a part of our family,” says Connie. “She is a warm and wonderful person with much talent. Cherie gives you what you want in an elegant way because she has the expertise in her field and she loves what she does,” explained John. “Our house feels warm, comfortable and magnificent. We call it the Cherie Rose Miracle!”
